What’s the difference between AEGD and GPR programs?
- AEGD = Advanced Education in General Dentistry
- GPR = General Practice Residency
The key difference between the two is that GPR is a hospital-based whereas AEGD is usually school or clinic-based. I found this from a resourceful website:
A minimum of 60% of the resident’s experience must be in the direct delivery of oral health care to ambulatory patients. The remaining time may be spent in the operating room involved with inpatient services, as well as the emergency room. Time is also devoted to non-dental services, such as lectures, conferences, and seminars.
I leave this question for the readers, which one do you think would be better in long-term AEGD or GPRG and why?
